Attached are board pictures from today's notes. Key Terms are included. We're learning the basics of chemical bonds so we can move into the chapters on DNA, proteins, and the chemical reactions of life.
Also - a good opportunity for local connections - both in Science and Environmental Studies. Last week, it was the trade off on saving water versus carpeting local playing fields in artificial turn which may contain hazardous chemicals and does not decompose in land fills.
This week it's the Planning Commissions possible approval of one MILLION cubic yards of dirt to be piled in the local Quarry. Soil that could, potentially, contain the "Forever Chemicals" about which we're learning. Real-life, local issues that require some knowledge of CHEMISTRY.
